Inner Frequency has been chosen to compete in the final round of the Land Shark Lager Battle of the Bands. Fans can vote for the band, view a live video of their tune “Satellite,” and download a free copy of “Big Talker” at http://www.landsharkrocks.com/BandProfile.aspx?c=7158&p=324 through November 23.
Inner Frequency finished in the top 20 of the southwestern region based on online votes and was then selected as one of the top 4 from the region by judges from Land Shark Lager and Rhapsody. They traveled to Austin on October 9 for a live video taping on the stages at KLRU studios where Austin City Limits is filmed. The tune “Satellite,” from their most recent CD Surge which was released earlier this year, can be viewed on the voting site at www.landsharkrocks.com. Inner Frequency is composed of Cara Young, lead singer and songwriter, originally from Georgia. Cara attended college at Middle Tennessee State University and then worked in the music business in Nashville, TN before moving to Dallas, TX; Jon Mosig, drums and backing vocals, from Arlington, TX; Bryan Plemons, bass guitar, from Texas; And playing with the band specially for the Battle of the Bands: Matthew Johnson who plays with Patrice Pike from Austin, TX and Dave Perez from hard rock band Invain, who calls Dallas home now after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina from his hometown of New Orleans. Hey, I'm a guitarist and I am looking for musicians to start a funk/reggae cover band. I would like to use the cover band concept as springboard to slowly move into writing and performing original music. I will need a strong rhythm section first, but trumpet players, saxophone players, and of course a singer are more than welcome on board. A mock setlist of things I would like to cover include:
- Bob Marley - Concrete Jungle - Bob Marley - Exodus - Funkadelic - I got a thing and Hit It and Quit It - Sister Nancy - Bam Bam - Ring the Alarm - Brian Eno - No One Receiving, maybe a jam over this tune - Possible jam over Liberation by Outkast and some dub style jams - A couple original tunes * you can youtube all of these songs I do not have a rehearsal space, but I am willing to chip in money to rent one. Unfortunately, our long time drummer is no longer able to travel due to personal reasons & we're holding auditions, looking to hook up with a professional, like-minded musician who is able to do multiple, small tours in support of a recently recorded CD. We have professional gear, promotional & management team & are looking to hit the road in late January 2010. Potentially looking at 3-4 day out of town runs, twice or more a month as well as doing local shows. We have designs on making a living playing music! Salut,
I'm new to the Atlanta area and am interested in finding a few guys to play with and maybe start a band. I play guitar and synth as well, but I would like to find someone to play guitar so I don't always need to play. Drummer. Bassist. I don't expect for anyone to be at the top of their game by any means, I know I'm not =0 But, it would be cool for the guitarist to be versatile and know how to use some out there tunings. Drummer to be really tight and have a nice sounding ride haha. And for the bass player to be able to not only hold the rhythm, but also be capable of doing some cool background fills. If I come off as wanting too much, don't hesitate to reply anyway. These are just idealistic. I listen to a variety of music; bands such as Metric, The Sounds, Ladyhawke, Third Eye Blind, U2, No Doubt, Ultra Orange et Emmanuelle, Blondie, etc etc. I primarily get around (okay, almost exclusively) via the metro, so it's a huge advantage if I can find some people here in Atlanta or close enough. Anyway... I wanted to make an attempt at posting something with a lot of information because I really would like to find some people to play with ! Age isn't a huge factor, but I would think 17 or 18 to mid twenties would be good. Heavy Metal Band seeks female heavy metal singer. Must be a singer (not a screamer) with talent, stage presence, and a professional work ethic. We seek someone who is dedicated to similar professional goals and objectives to ours and is willing to take a leap of faith with us and commit to this band, as if chosen, we will take the same leap of faith and commit to you. Amateurs with no experience, talent, or the ability to commit, need not apply. We are located in McDonough GA and rehearse on Tuesday nights weekly(6pm to 8pm)and every other Saturday (1pm to 5pm).
