CJ & the Chronics is an ORIGINAL Alt-Rock/R&B Band with a signature sound and unique style...

We are currently seeking the following musicians:

Bassist – Must have pro attitude and work ethic, provide own gear, be a fast learner, and play by ear. Background vocals, songwriting, and connections in the industry are a plus.

Drummer – Must have pro attitude and work ethic, good timing, ability to play by ear, and provide own gear. Practice/rehearsal space and connections in the industry are a plus.

Keyboardist – Must have pro attitude and work ethic and provide own gear with synth/midi capabilities. Vocals, multiple keyboards, organ abilities, and connections in the industry are a plus.

ALL MUSICIANS MUST BE ABLE TO:
1. Practice at least 2-3 times a week for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours
2. Play at open mics, benefit concerts, auditions, and gigs as needed
3. Be comfortable/confident in different environments (recording sessions, small venues, large venues, parties, etc.)
4. Contribute to band expenses (ie. Providing own gear, rehearsal space, fx, splitting contest/showcase fees.)
5. Make arrangements with your current employer for band tours and/or record label opportunities.

My name’s Bobby & I am the singer for the band StoneCoat out of Atlanta.

Unfortunately, our long time drummer is no longer able to travel due to personal reasons & we're holding auditions, looking to hook up with a professional, like-minded musician who is able to do multiple, small tours in support of a recently recorded CD.

We have professional gear, promotional & management team & are looking to hit the road in late January 2010. Potentially looking at 3-4 day out of town runs, twice or more a month as well as doing local shows. We have designs on making a living playing music! Travel, food, & lodging expenses + day rates/ day of shows will be provided while on the road.

I'm new to the Atlanta area and am interested in finding a few guys to play with and maybe start a band. I play guitar and synth as well, but I would like to find someone to play guitar so I don't always need to play. Drummer. Bassist. I don't expect for anyone to be at the top of their game by any means, I know I'm not =0 But, it would be cool for the guitarist to be versatile and know how to use some out there tunings. Drummer to be really tight and have a nice sounding ride haha. And for the bass player to be able to not only hold the rhythm, but also be capable of doing some cool background fills. If I come off as wanting too much, don't hesitate to reply anyway. These are just idealistic. I listen to a variety of music; bands such as Metric, The Sounds, Ladyhawke, Third Eye Blind, U2, No Doubt, Ultra Orange et Emmanuelle, Blondie, etc etc. I primarily get around (okay, almost exclusively) via the metro, so it's a huge advantage if I can find some people here in Atlanta or close enough.
Anyway... I wanted to make an attempt at posting something with a lot of information because I really would like to find some people to play with ! Age isn't a huge factor, but I would think 17 or 18 to mid twenties would be good. Not necessarily wanting to target a certain age crowd; just don't want one of these little guys that are thirteen replying.

Lesbian Afternoon is a catchy, experimental rock band based in Atlanta. It features members of such great Atlanta bands as the Rock*a*Teens, Batata Doce, DQE and Bob.

We have shows coming up playing live on the radio -

Drunken Unicorn on Wed Nov 18 @ 9:30pm

After these shows we will be needing a drummer to step in who is committed, meaning practicing roughly once a week, able to play shows here and there, etc. No drumming 'style' is needed per se. Just someone who likes the music we make and has a surreal sense of creativity, is fun to be around, bathes at least once every two days, etc. Would prefer someone closer to 30 than 20.

Our music ranges from catchy psyche/pop to experimental garage rock, some dance/electro, folk/indian with strange tunings, shoegaze, post-punk, etc.

Our songs might remind you of Pavement or Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine or the Pixies. Other influences are Yo La Tengo, Of Montreal, Animal Collective, B-52s, Deerhoof, Polvo, Os Mutantes, Neil Young, Gastr del Sol, Doors, Ramones, Sonic Youth, Sparks, Swell Maps, Slits, Swirlies, probably other bands that start with the letter S, etc.
