The Intellectual Property Attorney position is a full-time position designed to provide legal counsel on a wide variety of intellectual property and marketing matters.
Responsibilities
+ Work with Chick-fil-A, Inc. internal co-counsel and business teams on IP matters and projects.
+ Partner with internal and outside legal counsel to provide advice related to Chick-fil-A s United States and International trademark portfolio.
+ Draft, review and update policies, documents and communications related to IP matters and business initiatives.
+ Work with the internal co-counsel and the Chick-fil-A marketing department on Marketing related issues included clearance of advertising materials.
+ Assist business clients to protect and preserve Chick-fil-A IP across a wide ranging spectrum of works included but not limited to books, equipment, recipes, music, design, and business processes.
+ Work with the Chick-fil-A digital marketing department and IP legal team to execute a domain name portfolio strategy.
+ Advise and assist with the creation of brand standards and other marketing related policies.
+ Partner to maintain registrations for Chick-fil-A s United States and International trademark portfolio.
+ Provide counsel related to licensing for music rights, movie clips, and other permissions related to Chick-fil-A s use of others creative materials.
+ Support Chick-fil-A affiliated businesses on intellectual property related issues.
+ Draft, prepare and update documents related to promotions and sweepstakes for Chick-fil-A, Inc.
+ Work with and manage a variety of outside legal counsel.
+ Monitor IP-related developments, trends and issues in an effort to anticipate business needs.
+ Attend meetings with business contacts pertaining to IP issues
+ Attend outside seminars and other business-related events related to IP, Marketing and Advertising issues relevant to the role; stay current on the subject matter.
Minimum Qualifications
+ At least three (3) years experience in advice and counseling regarding all types of intellectual property issues either in a large law firm, boutique IP firm, or in-house with 5+ years preferred.
+ Four year college degree.
+ Law degree from accredited law school.
+ Demonstrated academic success in law school (top 33% of class).

Preferred Qualifications
+ Large law firm and/or intellectual property boutique experience, and/or focused in-house corporate experience, preferred.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Strong writing and editing skills.
+ Ability to identify and set priorities.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ High level of initiative and desire to work with an in-house legal department.
+ Ability to serve leadership and supporting roles in cross-functional projects and/or on cross-functional teams.
