Summary Description
Be directly responsible to the Nurse Manager
Initiates, performs, and completes assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations
Functions as a team player on a fast-paced Long Term Care/Rehabilitation/Dementia unit
Accountable for the provision of direct patient care and for the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse Veteran population with complex needs
Effectively applies all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients
Manages computerized documentation, medication administration, and leadership responsibilities
Other duties include patient and family education, interdisciplinary participation with discharge planning and as assigned.

Summary Description

The RN needs to have at least 3 years of clinical experience in professional nursing care principles, practices, and procedures related to Post Anesthesia Recovery. Must be alert and recognize situations requiring intervention within the recovery patient care setting.

Experience: Recent PACU experience within the past 6 months. Minimum 36 months PACU experience is required.

Professional skills:
• responsible for planning, administering and directing nursing care to patients with intensive medical-surgical needs.
• Responsible for the care of pre-op, phase 1 and phase 2 recovery.
