:Associates degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting the requirements defined in the CLIA regulation 42CFR493.1489 13;

:American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent medical laboratory technician or Department of Community Health Diagnostics Services Unit technician qualifications (persons who recently moved to the state or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be classified as technologists or technicians for 18 months to afford an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination) 13;

:Bachelors degree in medical technology, chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science form an accredited institution 13;

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES* 13;
Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
