The Senior Production Manager directs and coordinates overall departmental activities and aids senior leadership in formulating and administering operational procedures. Participates in the development of tactical and strategic goals and objectives. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives and inspires and directs the leadership team and team members to meet and exceed those stated goals and objectives. Ensures profits through management of operating budgets, resources and plans established through experience, knowledge and vision.
MAJOR DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
:Provides oversight of the management of the scheduling of the facility: sets work schedules, provides training and coaching, conducts performance evaluations, sets departmental goals and expectations.
:Prepares operating budgets for department based on actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other factors; ensures compliance with established budgetary guidelines, cost standards by operation and function.
:Studies production schedules and estimates labor hour requirements for completion of job assignments; oversees loading and line balancing; ensures operational compliance with established production and shipping schedules; maximizes workforce utilization.
:Interprets and communicates overall organization directives and applies them to the department.
:Leads the activities of the supervisors, team leaders, and team members in the production of quality prescription eyewear in accordance with work instructions and company policy to ensure a quality, on:time delivered product.
:Effectively communicates business needs, schedule changes, process problems and success stories. Ensures the appropriate level of accountability for facility goals and objectives of the lab.
:Follows through with supervisors, team leaders and team members' performance and corrective actions in a timely manner.
:Leads and partners with the leadership team to identify quality, process, workflow, personnel problems and works to quickly resolve according to company policy, practice and guidelines.
:Facilitates the utilization of problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility key operating statistics.
:Effectively plans and manages projects for changes or improvements to existing processes, implementation of new processes and installation of new equipment.
:Assists senior leadership in the execution of their duties and in meeting company and facility goals and objectives.
:Promotes the management of support and administrative functions to ensure quality, delivery, and personal expectations are met.
:Works with the leadership team to ensure appropriate process audits are conducted and implemented
BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS
:Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering.
:7+ years' experience in a Manufacturing environment
:4+ years' management experience
:Experience in a high volume, multiple shift, manufacturing environment
:Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
:Demonstrated ability to lead in a team:oriented environment
:Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution and team based success
