Learn more by visiting powermylearning.org. POSITION DESCRIPTION PowerMyLearning of the Greater Atlanta Region is seeking a new Director of Programs. The Director of Programs is responsible for leading the successful implementation of PowerMyLearning's programs in Atlanta in to help teachers, students, and parents in high-poverty school communities harness the power of PowerMylearning programs to improve student achievement towards college and career readiness. Our programs address student learning in all environments, including both the classroom and the home. Operating in the most disadvantaged communities throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area, PowerMyLearning has served over 7,300 students, along with their families and teachers, in 16 schools. PowerMyLearning has recently completed a strategic growth plan to expand our reach and increase our impact with families and teachers in our partner schools across greater Atlanta region. This new initiative provides an exciting opportunity for teachers to better personalize instruction, make learning more engaging for students, extend learning time outside the classroom, and better connect with and involve parents in the learning process. The Director of Programs will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the program vision and managing program execution. The Director of Programs serves as a senior leader on the PowerMyLearning-Atlanta team. This position manages full-time staff responsible for developing partnership with schools and the implementation of PowerMyLearning Programs. Additionally, the Director of Programs will support national program development by collaborating with PowerMyLearning's regional and national teams.This position reports to the Atlanta Executive Director, Kwame Johnson. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES School Sales and Support SustainabilityWorking with school leaderships to cultivate existing and new school and district partnerships to expand our impact and secure revenueManage selected relationships with metro-Atlanta school districts, charter management organizations, and other external partnersLeverage relationships with schools and school district staff for visits from potential partner organizations and fundersIn conjunction with the Executive Director, help prepare for and attend meetings with funders and potential funders as neededLead direct reports to cultivate school-based PowerMyLearning champions who are excited to help the organization further its missionLeverage direct reports to help support short- and long-term sustainability objectivesAssist in region efforts to engage more teachers, schools and partner organizations in our work each year; manage annual school selection process and other events outside of program implementationGather and accurately report program data for local and national sustainability effortUnderstand and communicate the mission and theory of change to staff, clients, funders, and other stakeholdersManage the PowerMyLearning Programs ImplementationBuild and maintain strong relationships with PowerMyLearning's partner school districts, schools and school leadersIn conjunction with the Executive Director, create strategic direction for the programReport pertinent program data to internal and external partnersCull program data to suggest course corrections, professional development requirements for staff, and strategic suggestionsPlan with Director of Technology & Operations to target and solve program implementation issues and future evolution of processesLead teams responsible for PowerMyLearning's direct work with families, students, and teachersSupport and manage teams to ensure high quality program implementation at all levelsArticulate the program vision and value to internal and external stakeholdersProvide ongoing feedback to the National Product team regarding all Program implementation issuesProvide support and guidance to Board of Director Program Development CommitteeEnsure a High-Performing Program TeamBuild a strong, outcomes focused performance culture within the program teamCultivate, hire, and manage a high-performing teamManage individual team members' performance: ensure training and coaching necessary to perform basic job duties; give recognition and direct constructive feedback; hold regular meetings with team members to support their performance; perform annual performance reviews; and maintain documentation as per PowerMyLearning standardsDevelop the leadership of staff to support regional and national prioritiesManage up by being proactive and keeping manager informed of changing prioritiesOther duties as necessary, including attendance at Saturday program events as needed during the school year (approximately 12-15 times) with comp time to be used the following week CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Required:Passion for PowerMyLearning's missionBachelor's degreeSales experience and/or fundraising experienceExperience as a classroom teacherExperience working with low-income communitiesExperience working with public schools and/or districtsExperience overseeing or leading professional development of teachersAt least three years of experience in program managementAt least two years of experience in managing a team of full-time staffExperience managing external partnershipsStrong organization and project management skillsExceptional interpersonal and teamwork skillsCapacity to thrive under pressure while working on multiple tasks and projectsAbility to set priorities for self, team, and peers, and adjust when priorities changeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated flexibility when priorities changeExpertise with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel a mustPreferred:Bilingual English/SpanishExperience with selling products or services to a school or other government agencyExperience teaching Elementary or Middle school Mathematics or ScienceRelevant Master's degree COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
