Reporting to: the Managing Partner of the Atlanta Office and the firm-wide Director of Administration, this highly visible role is responsible for daily oversight and management of the Atlanta office. In conjunction with the Managing Partner of the Atlanta Office, the Regional Office Administrator will establish and implement a strategic plan for the office, including short and long-term goals, and also work closely with firm-wide administrative leadership, partners, and other key decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support firm-wide initiatives. This position has frequent contact with staff, management, attorneys, and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Works with the Atlanta office attorneys and staff to support the office’s goals for high quality service to internal and external clients, operations, and growth and development.
• Manages Atlanta staff including monitoring staff workflow to ensure that workloads are appropriately weighted and balanced; coordinating assignments to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
o In consultation with firm-wide management and administration, develops and monitors a realistic budget to facilitate planning, purchasing, and cost-effective operation.
o Ensures the office’s compliance with all firm-wide and office-wide policies and procedures, including operational procedures and legal compliance training.
o Sources, monitors, recommends, and obtains up-to-date equipment; negotiates and monitors leasing arrangements; plans and implements space planning, both long range and short range.
o Develops and maintains safety and business continuity plans as well as other emergency preparedness activities to facilitate smooth office operations during short- or long-term emergency situations.
o Works cooperatively with the Recruitment & Professional Development department to ensure a strong attorney recruitment program conducive to the future growth and development of the Atlanta office; assists with Summer Associate program as needed.
o Participates actively in professional organizations and groups to develop and foster working relationships with other experienced legal operations professionals.
o Leads interviewing and candidate selection, assimilation, and training of new Atlanta staff, as needed.
o Completes performance evaluation and compensation planning; monitors and remediates difficult performance situations and works with Atlanta Managing Partner and the Director of Administration to take appropriate action.
o Participates in or leads special projects as assigned by the Director of Administration or the Atlanta Office Managing Partner.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business management or human resource management; advanced degree a plus
• At least five to eight years of progressively responsible experience in office operations management; including significant experience in a national multi-office law firm, preferably in the Metropolitan area
• At least 5 years of management experience required including responsibility for staffing, human resource management, and employee relations
• Demonstrated working knowledge of business operations in a law firm setting, including budgeting, fund accounting and cost recovery; contract and license negotiation; space planning; marketing and business development; process analysis and development; program development and implementation; project planning and management; and office technologies and applications
• Strong leadership skills which include critical thinking, appropriate risk taking and creativity
• Demonstrated ability to manage at all levels in the organization and deal with ambiguity - effectively cope with change and act without having full information
• Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information relating to the firm and its clients
• Knowledge of standard office computer programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, including business writing
