JOB SUMMARY 13;
The summer internship program provides current college/graduate students the opportunity to work on meaningful, project:based assignments in various non:clinical areas.
Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning/support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis. Students typically work full time during the summer program, which runs from mid May to early August.
The Internal Communications team develops and implements strategic communications plans and tactics that support internal business partners in achieving System: and department:level goals. The Internal Communications Intern will develop and lead a mid:year evaluation of 2018 clinical operations communications under the guidance and support of a Senior Internal Communications Coordinator. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the development and implementation of change communications in a healthcare setting and apply demonstrated communication and research skills to develop an evaluation report and recommendations for improving clinical operations communications going forward.
College or graduate student working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Marketing Research, Public Health, Business or Healthcare Administration, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

:Knowledge of basic communication and change management principles
:Experience developing and implementing communication research methods such as surveys, one:on:one interviews and focus groups, to evaluate message retention/recall and behavior change
:Demonstrated skills in written, verbal and interpersonal communication, including editing, presentations and writing for diverse audiences
:Strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative, organizational skills and attention to detail
:Solid process, analytical, problem solving and time management skills, including ability to manage concurrent deadlines
:Experience with Survey Monkey preferred
:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* 13;
:Develop and implement plan for a mid:year evaluation of internal communications strategies and tactics targeting clinical operations teams
:Design survey questionnaires, focus group guides/scripts, and forum programming to engage clinical employees and leaders from various departments, including Nursing, Respiratory, Rehab, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Environmental Services
:Develop communications (written and digital content) throughout evaluation to engage target audiences and increase participation in evaluative measures
:Provide periodic reports (written and presentation) detailing analysis of findings and recommendations for improvement and next steps
:Develop proposal for implementing recommended improvements, including draft communications 13;
SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES* 13;
Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
